Translation of Hebrew epitaph:

Here lies Rebecca, daughter of Mordechai Arnold, of Fayetteville, died 12 Kislev and buried on the eve of the Holy Sabbath, 13 Kislev, [5]602


Additional information:

Infant daughter of Marks Arnold and his wife, Eve (Einstein), of Fayetteville. The family had immigrated from Jebenhausen, Germany, in 1839 and at first settled in Chambersburg, then in Fayetteville. They removed to New Castle, Pa., after 1844. Marks Arnold was elected president of Pittsburgh's newly founded Orthodox congregation, Rodeph Shalom, in 1856.
