Son of Joseph Arnold and his wife, Theresa (Kaufmann), of Hagerstown.
The family had immigrated from Jebenhausen, Germany, in
1849.
The headstone bears the marks of vandalism. The first word in the
second line ought to be הבחור but is spelled phonetically according to
the usual German-Jewish pronounciation of Hebrew.
