Made of more precious material than most, and with a more ornate design, this headstone for 17-year-old Elmer Kahnweiler of Harrisburg also stands out for the elaborate poetry of its Hebrew epitaph. The hands raised in blessing indicate that young Elmar was of priestly lineage, a descendant of Aaron, the brother of Moses.

Elmer died on August 9, 1872.
